Master Mariner-led. NTP Marine Surveyors is led by a Master Mariner with unlimited certification, bringing merchant-vessel and superyacht operating experience to every survey. Our methodology comes from real work at sea — not from textbooks.

Pre-purchase specialists. We offer one service only: independent pre-purchase yacht surveys for buyers. No insurance surveys, no valuations, no condition surveys for sellers. This focus means every inspection follows a consistent, captain-led process.

Clear reporting. Findings are graded A (critical) through D (minor) so you know what needs immediate attention, what to negotiate, and what can wait. Every finding is supported by photo evidence.

Third-party costs — Lift-out, haul-out, yard and marina charges are not included. These must be authorised by the vessel owner, seller or their broker and arranged directly with the provider.

Survey dates are confirmed once vessel access, sea trial and any lift-out arrangements are authorised.

Survey scope

What we inspect — and what we don't. This is a visual and operational assessment for the buyer, not a technical audit.

What the survey covers
  • Hull & deck — interior and exterior
  • Engine, generator & machinery visual assessment
  • Electrical systems & electronics verification
  • Engine room & systems inspection
  • Operational sea trial observation
  • Photo evidence of all findings
  • Post-report phone consultation
  • PDF report within 48 hours
Scope limitations

Our survey is visual and operational. We do not perform intrusive testing, structural engineering analysis, or valuation. Specifically excluded:

  • Moisture / osmosis surveys
  • Ultrasonic or thermographic testing
  • Mechanical disassembly
  • Engine compression tests
  • Fuel or oil analysis
  • Valuation or appraisal
  • Insurance condition surveys

Specialist testing (moisture, ultrasonic, thermographic) can be coordinated with trusted partner firms on request.

Survey process
  1. You enquire — tell us about the vessel and your preferred timing.
  2. Access is arranged — the owner, seller or their broker confirms access, sea trial and any lift-out with the marina.
  3. Survey day — we inspect on-site, photographing all findings.
  4. Report delivered — comprehensive PDF with A–D grading within 48 hours, followed by a consultation call.
